On the fifteenth of October, 2013, an earthquake struck Bohol. Houses came
down, roads split, and church buildings across the province were left in
pieces. In the aftermath of that quake, Bible Baptist Church of Cordova, Cebu,
under the leadership of Pastor Ryan S. Buscato, sent a work into Inabanga.
That work is this church.
There was nothing to start with — no members, no building, no history,
and no list of names to call on. What there was, was one new family and a
Bible. The name says what God does: He rebuilds. So the work began
the only way it could. Men went out house to house with the gospel. Bible
studies were opened in homes that would receive them. Everyone who made a
profession was followed up, and followed up again, and taught to sit under
preaching on the Lord’s Day.
That has not changed in almost thirteen years. It is still soulwinning,
still Bible studies, still follow-up. God has given more than a hundred souls
baptized in that time, and a congregation that now carries the work itself.
Some of the young people raised in this church are already serving Him
— one of them is pastoring, and another is in Bible school at Bible
Baptist Church, Cebu.
That is the fruit we count.
