Our Story

About Our Church

The ground gave way in Bohol in 2013. This church was begun in what was left, and it has been building ever since.

From Nothing

How the Work Began

On the fifteenth of October, 2013, an earthquake struck Bohol. Houses came down, roads split, and church buildings across the province were left in pieces. In the aftermath of that quake, Bible Baptist Church of Cordova, Cebu, under the leadership of Pastor Ryan S. Buscato, sent a work into Inabanga. That work is this church.

There was nothing to start with — no members, no building, no history, and no list of names to call on. What there was, was one new family and a Bible. The name says what God does: He rebuilds. So the work began the only way it could. Men went out house to house with the gospel. Bible studies were opened in homes that would receive them. Everyone who made a profession was followed up, and followed up again, and taught to sit under preaching on the Lord’s Day.

That has not changed in almost thirteen years. It is still soulwinning, still Bible studies, still follow-up. God has given more than a hundred souls baptized in that time, and a congregation that now carries the work itself. Some of the young people raised in this church are already serving Him — one of them is pastoring, and another is in Bible school at Bible Baptist Church, Cebu. That is the fruit we count.

Where We Stand

Still a Mission Church

We say this plainly because it is true and because it matters: Rebuilder Bible Baptist Church is a mission church of Bible Baptist Church, Cordova, Cebu. We were started as one, and we are one still.

We are not an autonomous church and we do not describe ourselves as self-supporting. We remain under the authority and care of our sending church and its pastor, Pastor Ryan S. Buscato.

We are independent Baptist and we preach the King James Bible.

The Church Today

The Ones Who Stayed

Every person in this picture came from somewhere. Some were reached at a door, some in a Bible study in their own front room, some as children in an extension class out in the barangay. They were followed up until they came, and they stayed.

The work is not finished. There are barangays we have not reached and houses we have not knocked on. If you are in Inabanga, come and sit with us on the Lord’s Day.
